Concrete has never felt this good!
Basalt chopped fibers are the new concrete countertop additive! Stronger and cheaper than AR Glass this is the fiber being chosen by the lead professionals in the business. They use less fibers and get even better strength! Basalt does not create spalling and is very workable.
Do basalt fibers add any insulative properties to concrete?
Yes they do however you do not add so many as to amount to a lot usually.
What are you hoping to achieve?
I’m in the process of developing a non-load bearing insulation product made from cellular concrete. I’m looking for something to add to very light mixes to improve it’s durability, overall strength, and ability to hold light fasteners.
…without undermining the concrete’s insulation. And if it actually adds to it, so much the better.
Try adding the Basalt fibers to your mix-heaviy where the fasteners go.
Thanks for the good word!
