An Aerogel Fabric that is only 2mm thick, however equal to over one inch of Polyiso in K-value!
Aerogel fabric is a very thin low temperature insulation. Perfect for adding storage capacity in a cooler, refrigerator, or freezer while reducing energy costs.
In Norway professional military divers insert the fabric into wetsuits and dry suits. Ski boot and hand made boot makers are incorporating aerogel fabric into their products, all with rave reviews!
INCREASED STORAGE. Aerogel fabric does not lose its thermal properties if it gets wet or compressed, unlike down or fiberglass. Plus down and fiberglass take up valuable space. Reducing the thickness of insulation increases storage capacity.
REDUCED ENERGY COSTS. Aerogel fabric’s increased insulation properties will reduce energy costs.
LIGHTWEIGHT INSULATION. Excellent insulation for clothing, gloves and boots.

Fish Box Test by Fernandez Design Group
TEST FOR INSULATION PROPERTIES OF ADVANCED AEROGEL THERMAL INSULATION
Purpose of test: Replace the standard method of insulating fish box storage on a fishing boat.
Standard method:
2 Layers of 1708 FRP
1 Layer of GURIT® CORECELL™ M-Foam Thickness: 19 mm
1 layer of 1708 FRP
Aerogel Fabric method:
2 Layers of 1708 FRP
1 layer of Aerogel Fabric Thickness: 2mm
1 layer of 1708 FRP
Test Boxes:
Fabricated two 12x12x12 boxes and lids laminated as above using Epoxy resin and filled them with 2 LB. of ice and exposed the two boxes to the outside ambient temperature. California sun.
Did not laminate the Aerogel Fabric to the box but sandwiched it between the two layers of the FRP as a loose layer.
Conducted the test and after 96 hours, the Aerogel Fabric box had 10% plus of the ice left with an inside temperature of 39 degrees Fahrenheit.
The CORECEL box after 48 hrs. had no ice left.

Test Boxes
Left: Standard Method. Right: Aerogel Fabric Method
CONCLUSION:
Four days in the California sun and the Aerogel Fabric ice chest still had ice and 39 degrees F. Interior storage capacity in this case was near 470 cubic inches for just 12 inch cubed box. Any person who understands K value can easily see the immediate value- either for hot or cold storage. Ovens that lose substantial heat as well as refrigerators and reefer trucks etc. Increase valuable storage space, reduce weight and reduce the amount of energy it takes to maintain those temperatures.
